Hello, my name is "Alexander Tietge and I am "Penboy".

I have been drawing for as many years as I can remember. My father was very artistic but never persued a career in art. I started doing pen drawings in late 1990, within my vapd's and on the top of school and university notes. Only at the end of 1998 did I begin to draw in huge formats taking days to complete pieces. Pen drawings usually take around 24 hours upwards and the first book took me 5 years to complete.

Many others more recently have copied the use of the modern pen in art, and even my name Penboy. It was only time before others saw and copied. My art differs from others, as my teachers have one told me too. This art is raw and free from critical thought, many of the pieces express emotions and feelings. I have had exhibitions in Europe, Oceania and the America's.

The penworks contained within this site are done with a normal pen. I have used a total of 295 pens in Penbook 1, of 80 completed pages (27.5cm x 35.5cm) finished in 2004 in Germany.

Penbook 2 started in 2004, took a total of 147 pens over more than 60 pages (29.5cm x 21cm), and more than 3 years to complete in Germany.

I am currently working on my third Penbook, with no sight of slowing down. Most of my works are available through charaties at the moment and for sale online.

I started most of the drawings in germany when I lived there for 7 years. I have continued to complete all 9 vapd's.

Other works are available for purchase on my other website including different mediums, such as: oil paintings, drawings, pencil work and pastel.
